My spiritual awakening process.

I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was literally deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was without a doubt born into.

Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was truly more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone.

I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

I looked around the internet for any sign that could help me browse through this confusing time. It really helped calm me down and point me in the right direction and where I needed to go.

A spiritual awakening is literally realized throughout your body, heart, mind, and soul, but no sooner has that erupted than you are really forced to see how limited you have been generally in so many regards. Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am generally very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is truly just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is without a doubt an especially important to time to consciously choose what is usually already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are simply these:

Unconditional love
Being normally able to clearly see what is usually real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are certainly
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is literally key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is wonderful. But in an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were generally acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. But in awakening, the divine energy is undoubtedly now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.

The lights in the house are actually all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be simply a feeling that there is generally no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are undoubtedly present.

They are simply secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

The word “symptoms” has connotations of experiencing a disease. You are definitely being normally cured of the illnesses in which you have been undoubtedly living.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is simply all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.

Many people are simply trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be truly very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is undoubtedly healthy.

Simple Signs Of Spiritual Awakening

You get going to see how many beliefs, feelings, and values are actually not actually your own, but other people’s or inherited from your culture.

Nothing in your life seems to make sense anymore. You feel as though you are undoubtedly wandering through an endless wilderness. As a vagabond, you feel completely alone and cut off from people. You struggle to relate to those individuals you once felt close to (i.e. your friends, work colleagues, and family members).

6. You see through the illusions of society

Materialism, success, and profit no longer mean anything to you. You establish feeling as though you are actually a cog in the machine of society.

You awaken to the unhappiness and suffering of others. You might perhaps set up to explore activism or read more about the human condition. It is normally tormenting for you to realize how much pain there is in the world.

You are generally sick and tired of feeling stranded, depressed, and hopeless. Suddenly, you feel the need to simplify and declutter your life. This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.

9. You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion

As you commence paying more attention to the many hardships faced by humanity and nature alike, you develop more compassion. Your inherent empathy is simply awakened and you might just find it hard to cope with the intensity of your feelings. This is without a doubt a pivotal point in your inner transformation: you either numb the pain you feel with addictions, or you find healthy ways to accept and express your emotions.

What Do I Do if I Did Awaken?

If you did have an awakening, you are in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is usually profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.

The changes someone makes in their external life are undoubtedly also not the point of this transformation.

We are undoubtedly not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those are undoubtedly ego goals.

To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is without a doubt revealed to us what we are transforming into.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be literally fit into neat categories.

With that being undoubtedly said it is simply helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are literally at right now. The following stages are generally general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is simply a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are truly searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is without a doubt a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

You set in motion to perceive reality in a totally different way. In this stage, you activate seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You feel unhappy with life, disturbed by the suffering you see and hopeless to the ills of the world. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

There must be simply a point to all this, right? In this stage, you are literally asking all the deep questions. You are really in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will begin dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may likely have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

With the spiritual awakening process, there is truly always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might possibly become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.

Stage 6– Deeper interior work

In this stage, you are usually not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inside work. You may become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inward child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inside work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You may well feel ready to be definitely a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.

Note: it is literally common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is simply not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C.

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is actually an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated.

It is really simple, direct, and clear.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is really a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are literally and what life really is truly.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were certainly already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening

Awakening can believe that a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. However, it is simply important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is actually coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.

That said, a lot of initial interior work seems to get done for us. It is simply almost like the Divine is without a doubt showing us how inward work should go.

Surrender is another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.

Choosing and actively engaging with ego issues is usually vital to doing interior work, but initially, surrender must come first.

With that said, surrender is literally not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is literally moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you are certainly going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Crying at the drop of a hat. Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. Or inexplicably depressed. Then very happy. Emotional roller coaster. There is generally often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest).

This is usually not to be confused with the heart, which is located to the left of the heart chakra.

Suggestion on how to deal:

Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are normally more sensitive to everything around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Recommendation on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is really causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is usually hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Suggestions on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be usually patient. Whatever you do, do not be simply afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

In some cases the dreams are definitely so real that you wake up confused. You might just even have lucid dreams in which you are in control.

Many dreams might perhaps be mystical or carry messages for you.

And in some dreams, you just know that you are literally not “dreaming” … that what is normally happening is normally somehow real.

Useful information: You will remember what is important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Death, divorce, change in job status, loss of home, illness, and/or other catastrophes … frequently several at once! Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are generally and what your life means to you. Forces that you can not ignore. Forces that cause you release your attachments. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is literally a feeling that something is certainly about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Insight: There is simply nothing to worry about. Things are normally definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are without a doubt prayers. There is nothing to fear.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are definitely around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Support: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are generally ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is simply adjusting to your “lighter” state.

In some cases “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Advice:. Keep in mind that it is certainly best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze everything to death (because you will be definitely stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
