My spiritual awakening process.
I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was simply deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was truly born into.
Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was normally more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone.
I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.
I looked around the internet for any sign that could help me maneuver this confusing time. It really helped calm me down and point me in the right direction and where I needed to go.

What Is Literally A Spiritual Awakening
In this profound revelation, a person’s energy moves and activates to transform you. It heals old wounds, dissolves false beliefs and illusions, and shifts you towards your truest way of expressing yourself and living your life.Accidental Spiritual Awakening
A spiritual awakening is usually realized throughout your body, heart, mind, and soul, but no sooner has that erupted than you are generally forced to see how limited you have been usually in so many regards. That bright light shining in the internal most depths of us asks us a potent question: “Now that we know the truth, will we clean up our home or will we try to ignore our illusions, pain, and misconceptions?”
By the way, for all those who are really interested, I have a newsletter called, “The Wake Up Call,” in which I regularly talk about this and other topics. Sign up for free below:

Spiritual Awakening Signs
I am definitely very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is literally just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is usually an especially important to time to consciously choose what is undoubtedly already unfolding in your life.
In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are truly these:
Being truly able to clearly see what is without a doubt real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are normally
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually
This last part is simply key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is actually wonderful. But in an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were normally acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is generally now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.
The lights in the house are simply all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be literally a feeling that there is simply no going back.
All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are normally present.
They are generally secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.
Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is definitely all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.
Many people are normally trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be actually very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is usually healthy.
Simple Signs Of Spiritual Awakening
1. You feel as though your life is generally false
Every thing that you have believed, built, and worked towards seems to be generally false. Your life doesn’t feel as though it is truly your own. You no longer feel like yourself– nearly every thing you once enjoyed no longer brings you meaning or satisfaction.
2. You craving for meaning and purpose
You deeply desire to find the meaning of your life. You have no idea what your purpose is simply, but you want to find it desperately. There is certainly a sense that something is truly “missing” inside of you (like a part of your soul).
3. You begin asking deep questions
You begin thinking more philosophically. Such profound thoughts may perhaps greatly disturb you as you don’t know the answers.
4. You realize that a lot of what you’ve been truly taught is truly a lie
You start to see how many beliefs, feelings, and values are actually not actually your own, but other people’s or inherited from your culture.
5. You feel completely lost and alone
Nothing in your life seems to make sense anymore. As a vagabond, you feel completely alone and cut off from people.
6. You see through the illusions of society
Materialism, success, and profit no longer mean anything to you. You set up feeling as though you are undoubtedly a cog in the machine of society.
7. You see how unhappy most people are undoubtedly
You awaken to the unhappiness and suffering of others. You might perhaps kick off to explore activism or read more about the human condition. It is usually tormenting for you to realize how much pain there is normally in the world.
8. You want to ‘purge’ your life
You’re sick and tired of feeling stranded, depressed, and hopeless. Suddenly, you feel the need to simplify and declutter your life. This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.
9. You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion
As you start paying more attention to the many hardships faced by humanity and nature alike, you develop more compassion. Your inherent empathy is certainly awakened and you might find it hard to cope with the intensity of your feelings. This is generally a pivotal point in your personal transformation: you either numb the pain you feel with addictions, or you find healthy ways to accept and express your emotions.
10. You see that we are really all One
Not only do you intellectually understand that we are actually all interconnected, but you feel it deeply within your bones. You realize that our thoughts and beliefs influence reality, and that we are actually all fragments of one great Whole– that is actually, Spirit. Having fully experienced that we are actually this Oneness, you find peace at last. Often this stage can take years or even an entire lifetime.

What Do I Do if I Did Awaken?
If you did have an awakening, you are undoubtedly in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is certainly profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.
The changes someone makes in their external life are actually also not the point of this transformation.
We are generally not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those individuals are without a doubt ego goals.
To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is without a doubt revealed to us what we are definitely transforming into.
7 Spiritual Awakening Stages
The spiritual awakening process is without a doubt complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be certainly fit into neat categories.
With that being generally said it is simply helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are without a doubt at right now. The following stages are truly general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:
Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost
In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is generally a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are literally searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is truly a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).
Stage 2– Shifting perspectives
In this stage, you launch seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.
Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning
In this stage, you are usually asking all the deep questions. You are truly in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself.
Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs
After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You might just have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is without a doubt a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.
Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again
Life is generally about movement. With the spiritual awakening process, there is really always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You may possibly become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper. You may likely have even experienced long periods of connection with the Divine, only to become separated again (this is without a doubt normal). Understandably, you’ll feel disturbed and deeply upset by this experience. Additionally, while you might have experienced many mental/emotional/spiritual breakthroughs, they might feel superficial. You crave for authenticity and for deep spirituality that permeates your life and transforms every part of you. The unhappiness and stagnation you feel will motivate you to go in search for more.
Stage 6– Deeper inner work
In this stage, you are truly not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep internal work. You might possibly become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inner child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.
Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy
Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inner work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You might feel ready to be a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.
Note: it is really common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is literally not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C.
What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake
The true spiritual path is really an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are undoubtedly here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is generally often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated.
It is generally simple, direct, and clear.
Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is certainly a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are truly and what life really is usually.
When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening
Awakening can feel like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. However, it is simply important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is truly coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.
It is literally almost like the Divine is generally showing us how inside work should go. Surrender is truly another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.
With that said, surrender is truly not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is definitely moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you are definitely going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!
10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening
1. Sudden waves of emotion.
Crying at the drop of a hat. Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. Or inexplicably depressed. Very happy. Emotional roller coaster. There is definitely often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest).
This is definitely not to be literally confused with the heart, which is located to the left of the heart chakra.
Counsel on how to deal:
Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.
2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.
As you grow more spiritual, you are truly more sensitive to every thing around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.
My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was without a doubt due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.
Recommendations on how to deal:
Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is actually causing your issues.
3. Amplification of the senses.
Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is generally hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).
Help on how to deal:.
Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be really patient. Whatever you do, do not be literally afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.
4. Vivid dreams.
Frequently the dreams are without a doubt so real that you wake up confused. You may perhaps even have lucid dreams in which you are really in control.
Many dreams may well be generally mystical or carry messages for you.
And in some dreams, you just know that you are literally not “dreaming” … that what is undoubtedly happening is normally somehow real.
Consultation: You will remember what is truly important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.
5. Events that completely alter your life:
Death, divorce, change in job status, loss of home, illness, and/or other catastrophes … sometimes several at once! Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are simply and what your life means to you. Forces that you can not ignore. Forces that cause you release your attachments. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.
6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.
This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.
7. A sense of something “Impending”.
There is literally a feeling that something is truly about to happen. This can create anxiety.
Opinions: There is truly nothing to worry about. Things are really definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are prayers. There is actually nothing to fear.
8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.
When you are truly around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.
Ideas: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.
This occurs when you are simply ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is definitely adjusting to your “lighter” state.
Sometimes “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.
10. Memories Resurface.
Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are usually healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.
Guide:. Keep in mind that it is normally best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be literally stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
