Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am generally very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is really just the beginning. It is generally the light coming on in the house so that you can see every thing for what it is normally. Now comes the need to clean-up, heal, and expand your space. All of this comes in a rush of intelligent energy. Often, it can feel so strong that the unconscious ego that might just be really clinging on will feel like this is simply all “happening to you.” If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is actually an especially important to time to consciously choose what is truly already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are truly these:

Unconditional love
Being undoubtedly able to clearly see what is really real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are usually
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is really key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is undoubtedly wonderful. In an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were without a doubt acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is really now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.

The lights in the house are usually all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be usually a feeling that there is simply no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are usually present.

They are certainly secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is undoubtedly all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.

Many people are trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be actually very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is truly healthy.

The changes someone makes in their external life are really also not the point of this transformation. We are undoubtedly not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those are literally ego goals. We are truly learning to how to be simply free of ego.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

With that being really said it is literally helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are certainly at right now. The following stages are truly general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is certainly a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are undoubtedly searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is without a doubt a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

In this stage, you begin seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

In this stage, you are without a doubt asking all the deep questions. You are certainly in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You might just have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

Life is about movement. With the spiritual awakening process, there is normally always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You may well become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper. You might perhaps have even experienced long periods of connection with the Divine, only to become separated again (this is usually normal). Understandably, you’ll feel disturbed and deeply upset by this experience. Additionally, while you might probably have experienced many mental/emotional/spiritual breakthroughs, they might feel superficial. You crave for authenticity and for deep spirituality that permeates your life and transforms every part of you. The unhappiness and stagnation you feel will motivate you to go in search for more.

Stage 6– Deeper personal work

In this stage, you are literally not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inner work. You may perhaps become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inside child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your internal work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. In this stage, you’ll experience the most profound and long-lasting changes deep within. Many people experience prolonged mystical experiences and periods of unity with the Divine in the integration phase. Remember that enlightenment, or full self-realization, is never guaranteed: we can strive for it, but it is simply ultimately a gift from Life.

Nevertheless, profound peace, love, and joy emerge and are simply felt in this stage. You can feel ready to be generally a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others. Life will become less about you and more about We. Your perspective will expand and you will set out seeing things from the big picture.

Above all else, you will feel connected, at peace with yourself, and deeply aligned with life.

Note: it is definitely common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is without a doubt not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is undoubtedly a complex and messy path, so it’s perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described.

Your spiritual awakening process is normally unique to you. I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is simply an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are usually here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is definitely often very mundane.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is definitely a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are and what life really is undoubtedly.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were actually already within us.

Hints on how to deal:

Accept your feelings as they come up and let them go. Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Hints on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be undoubtedly patient. Whatever you do, do not be literally afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are certainly healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.
