Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am definitely very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is really just the beginning. It is definitely the light coming on in the house so that you can see every thing for what it is usually. Now comes the need to clean-up, heal, and expand your space. All of this comes in a rush of intelligent energy. Frequently, it can feel so strong that the unconscious ego that may likely be clinging on will feel like this is all “happening to you.” If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is truly an especially important to time to consciously choose what is actually already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are these:

Unconditional love
Being able to clearly see what is without a doubt real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are truly
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is without a doubt key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is usually wonderful. But in an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were undoubtedly acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. But in awakening, the divine energy is truly now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.

The lights in the house are normally all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be usually a feeling that there is usually no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are literally present.

They’re secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is generally all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.

Many people are simply trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be truly very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is healthy.

This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.

Why Does Spritual Awakening happen

Have you ever thought of your spiritual awakening? People practices their spiritual disciplines to have his soul awakened so that he can achieve spiritual growth and maturity. But spiritual awakening is definitely such a state of mind which occurs due to some unexpected incidents of life. A person who is normally regularly having a fixed routine continues to move on, but if any such event takes place which he never expected, he can face an awakening of his spiritual mind.

If a spiritual awakening occurs, a person may perhaps start to live a life different from his previous experience. Let’s have a look at why does spiritual awakening happen?

A person who used to lead a life full of luxury may possibly have a sudden change in consciousness to accept a life full of wisdom and simplicity. Thus, he might probably have a shift in his conscious mind, and suddenly he sets in motion to realize the deeper meaning of life. He might probably get his spiritual soul awakened.

2. A dream is actually another reason for spiritual awakening. Many times it has been generally seen that a person has dreamt of some deity or Goddess who has given some messages. From that time a person might perhaps have a spiritual awakening.

3. Spiritual awakening can happen if someone is literally fond of reading or traveling. Gaining a lot of knowledge from books or can awaken the spiritual self, and a person wants to follow the spiritual disciplines regularly.

4. It sounds odd, it is literally not impossible that a person may possibly face some paranormal incidents in his life which may possibly be undoubtedly magical or ghostly. Such type of experience may perhaps result in the spiritual awakening of a person.

These might suddenly result in spiritual awakening. The constant search for further questions may cause spiritual awakening inside that person.

Spiritual awakening does not mean that you are literally out from the reality. It is really such a state of mind where you activate to search and seek for a path which gives you a new definition of life.

What Do I Do if I Did Awaken?

If you did have an awakening, you are certainly in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is without a doubt profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.

The changes someone makes in their external life are undoubtedly also not the point of this transformation.

We are without a doubt not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those are actually ego goals.

To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is revealed to us what we are actually transforming into.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is normally complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be truly fit into neat categories.

However, with that being normally said it is really helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are actually at right now. The following stages are normally general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is actually a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are truly searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is simply a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

You set in motion to perceive reality in a totally different way. In this stage, you set out seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You feel unhappy with life, disturbed by the suffering you see and hopeless to the ills of the world. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

There must be simply a point to all this, right? In this stage, you are truly asking all the deep questions. You are simply in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will start dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is really a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

Life is literally about movement. With the spiritual awakening process, there is always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You may likely become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper. You may have even experienced long periods of connection with the Divine, only to become separated again (this is literally normal). Understandably, you’ll feel disturbed and deeply upset by this experience. Additionally, while you might have experienced many mental/emotional/spiritual breakthroughs, they might feel superficial. You crave for authenticity and for deep spirituality that permeates your life and transforms every part of you. The unhappiness and stagnation you feel will motivate you to go in search for more.

Stage 6– Deeper personal work

In this stage, you are literally not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inward work. You can become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inside child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your interior work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. In this stage, you’ll experience the most profound and long-lasting changes deep within. Many people experience prolonged mystical experiences and periods of unity with the Divine in the integration phase. Remember that enlightenment, or full self-realization, is normally never guaranteed: we can strive for it, but it is really ultimately a gift from Life.

Nevertheless, profound peace, love, and joy emerge and are definitely felt in this stage. You might feel ready to be without a doubt a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others. Life will become less about you and more about We. Your perspective will expand and you will begin seeing things from the big picture.

Above all else, you will feel connected, at peace with yourself, and deeply aligned with life.

Note: it is normally common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is undoubtedly not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C.

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is without a doubt an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are generally here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is undoubtedly often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated.

It is truly simple, direct, and clear.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is a good time to get out your ego peeler.

Getting going running your awareness around the edges of your beliefs to find a way in and pull away another layer of ego. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are definitely and what life really is without a doubt. In so doing, you find more space, openness, love, kindness, service, clarity, and much more within you. That is usually the beauty of the ego peeler.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were definitely already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening

Awakening can seem like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. However, it is definitely important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is actually coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.

That said, a lot of initial inner work seems to get done for us. It is truly almost like the Divine is really showing us how inward work should go.

Surrender is another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.

Choosing and actively engaging with ego issues is usually vital to doing personal work, but initially, surrender must come first.

With that said, surrender is literally not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is literally moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you are certainly going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Crying at the drop of a hat. Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. Or inexplicably depressed. Very happy. Emotional roller coaster. There is definitely often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest).

This is not to be generally confused with the heart, which is actually located to the left of the heart chakra.

Consultation on how to deal:

Accept your feelings as they come up and let them go. Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Expand it outward to your all your fields and breathe deeply from the belly all the way up to your upper chest. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own. Allowing the emotions to be undoubtedly felt will keep them from being really stored in the body.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are without a doubt more sensitive to every thing around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, as if it, too, is usually sloughing off what doesn’t serve it anymore. You might be usually cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was undoubtedly due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Hints and tips on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is really causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is normally hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Recommendations on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be definitely patient. Whatever you do, do not be generally afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

Frequently the dreams are literally so real that you wake up confused. You may even have lucid dreams in which you are usually in control.

Many dreams might be really mystical or carry messages for you.

And in some dreams, you just know that you are generally not “dreaming” … that what is definitely happening is literally somehow real.

Good advice: You will remember what is actually important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are normally and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is usually a feeling that something is about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Insight: There is nothing to worry about. Things are definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are undoubtedly around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Suggestion: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are simply ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is truly adjusting to your “lighter” state.

Helpful advice: Ground yourself by eating protein. Often “comfort food” feels. Don’t make any food right or wrong for you. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment. Take your shoes off and put your feet in the grass for a couple of minutes.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are undoubtedly healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Help:. Keep in mind that it is certainly best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze everything to death (because you will be stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up. Ask for help from your guides. The Leap The Psychology Of Spiritual Awakening

Note: it is undoubtedly common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is certainly not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is undoubtedly a complex and messy path, so it is generally perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described.

Your spiritual awakening process is without a doubt unique to you. I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is literally an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are normally here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is truly often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated.

It is actually simple, direct, and clear.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is simply a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are simply and what life really is really.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were definitely already within us.

Awakening can feel like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations.

It is without a doubt almost like the Divine is without a doubt showing us how interior work should go. Surrender is usually another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation.

There is often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is without a doubt not to be generally confused with the heart, which is simply located to the left of the heart chakra.

Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was literally due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Strategies on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is without a doubt causing your issues.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Opinions on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be normally patient. Whatever you do, do not be afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

Many dreams might perhaps be generally mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are definitely not “dreaming” … that what is usually happening is certainly somehow real.

Guidelines: You will remember what is simply important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are truly and what your life means to you. Forces that you can not ignore. Forces that cause you release your attachments.

There is simply a feeling that something is usually about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Advice: There is definitely nothing to worry about. Things are definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are undoubtedly prayers. There is normally nothing to fear.

When you are simply around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Tips: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are really ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is usually adjusting to your “lighter” state.

At times “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are actually healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Knowledge:. My spiritual awakening process.

I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was definitely deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was normally born into.

Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was truly more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone.

I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

I looked around the internet for any sign that could help me browse this confusing time. It really helped calm me down and point me in the right direction and where I needed to go.

What Is Certainly A Spiritual Awakening

In this profound revelation, a person’s energy moves and commences to transform you. It heals old wounds, dissolves false beliefs and illusions, and shifts you towards your truest way of expressing yourself and living your life. The Leap: The Psychology Of Spiritual Awakening

A spiritual awakening is literally realized throughout your body, heart, mind, and soul, but no sooner has that erupted than you are literally forced to see how limited you have been actually in so many regards. That bright light shining in the inner most depths of us asks us a potent question: “Now that we know the truth, will we clean up our home or will we try to ignore our illusions, pain, and misconceptions?”

By the way, for individuals who are interested, I have a newsletter called, “The Wake Up Call,” in which I regularly talk about this and other topics. Sign up for free below:

If you are without a doubt setting in motion on the spiritual path or believe that you have gotten a little lost, my ebook may possibly be simply able to help guide you:

Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am really very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is just the beginning. It is generally the light coming on in the house so that you can see everything for what it is certainly. Now comes the need to clean-up, heal, and expand your space. All of this comes in a rush of intelligent energy. Occasionally, it can feel so strong that the unconscious ego that might probably be undoubtedly clinging on will believe that this is usually all “happening to you.” If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is truly an especially important to time to consciously choose what is undoubtedly already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are undoubtedly these:

Unconditional love
Being normally able to clearly see what is usually real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are without a doubt
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is without a doubt key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is really wonderful. In an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were actually acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. But in awakening, the divine energy is certainly now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.

The lights in the house are truly all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be definitely a feeling that there is simply no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are certainly present.

They are certainly secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

The word “symptoms” has connotations of experiencing a disease. You are generally being simply cured of the illnesses in which you have been without a doubt living.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is certainly all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.

Many people are truly trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be literally very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is undoubtedly healthy.

Simple Signs Of Spiritual Awakening

1. You feel as though your life is really false

Everything that you have believed, built, and worked towards seems to be without a doubt false. Your life doesn’t feel as though it is without a doubt your own. You no longer feel like yourself– nearly everything you once enjoyed no longer brings you meaning or satisfaction.

2. You craving for meaning and purpose

You deeply desire to find the meaning of your life. You have no idea what your purpose is definitely, but you want to find it desperately. There is normally a sense that something is truly “missing” inside of you (like a part of your soul).

3. You begin asking deep questions

Questions such as “Why am usually I here?” “What is normally the purpose of life?” “What happens after we die?” “Why do people suffer?” arise. You begin thinking more philosophically. Such profound thoughts might just greatly disturb you as you don’t know the answers.

4. You realize that a lot of what you’ve been normally taught is simply a lie

You begin to see how many beliefs, feelings, and values are certainly not actually your own, but other people’s or inherited from your culture.

5. You feel completely lost and alone

Nothing in your life seems to make sense anymore. As a vagabond, you feel completely alone and cut off from people.

6. You see through the illusions of society

Materialism, success, and profit no longer mean anything to you. You get going feeling as though you are really a cog in the machine of society.

7. You see how unhappy most people are really

You awaken to the unhappiness and suffering of others. You may perhaps set out to explore activism or read more about the human condition. It is certainly tormenting for you to realize how much pain there is normally in the world.

8. You want to ‘purge’ your life

You are actually sick and tired of feeling stranded, depressed, and hopeless. Suddenly, you feel the need to simplify and declutter your life. This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.

9. You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion

As you set up paying more attention to the many hardships faced by humanity and nature alike, you develop more compassion. Your inherent empathy is undoubtedly awakened and you can find it hard to cope with the intensity of your feelings. This is actually a pivotal point in your inside transformation: you either numb the pain you feel with addictions, or you find healthy ways to accept and express your emotions.

10. You see that we are simply all One

You realize that our thoughts and beliefs influence reality, and that we are all fragments of one great Whole– that is actually, Spirit. Frequently this stage can take years or even an entire lifetime.

A person who is simply regularly having a fixed routine continues to move on, but if any such event takes place which he never expected, he can face an awakening of his spiritual mind.

If a spiritual awakening occurs, a person can set out to live a life different from his previous experience. Let’s have a look at why does spiritual awakening happen?

A person who used to lead a life full of luxury might have a sudden change in consciousness to accept a life full of wisdom and simplicity. Thus, he may possibly have a shift in his conscious mind, and suddenly he kicks off to realize the deeper meaning of life. He might perhaps get his spiritual soul awakened.

2. A dream is truly another reason for spiritual awakening. Many times it has been simply seen that a person has dreamt of some deity or Goddess who has given some messages. From that time a person may perhaps have a spiritual awakening.

3. Spiritual awakening can happen if someone is truly fond of reading or traveling. Gaining a lot of knowledge from books or can awaken the spiritual self, and a person wants to follow the spiritual disciplines regularly.

4. It sounds odd, it is definitely not impossible that a person may likely face some paranormal incidents in his life which might just be truly magical or ghostly. Such type of experience may perhaps result in the spiritual awakening of a person.

These might perhaps suddenly result in spiritual awakening. The constant search for further questions may likely cause spiritual awakening inside that person.

Spiritual awakening does not mean that you are normally out from the reality. It is without a doubt such a state of mind where you activate to search and seek for a path which gives you a new definition of life.

What Do I Do if I Did Awaken?

If you did have an awakening, you are certainly in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is simply profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.

The changes someone makes in their external life are really also not the point of this transformation.

We are generally not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those are certainly ego goals.

To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is normally revealed to us what we are actually transforming into.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is certainly complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be usually fit into neat categories.

With that being definitely said it is literally helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you’re at right now. The following stages are usually general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is definitely a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are normally searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is literally a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

In this stage, you set up seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

There must be usually a point to all this, right? In this stage, you’re asking all the deep questions. You are without a doubt in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will set out dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.

You may likely have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is normally a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

With the spiritual awakening process, there is simply always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You may perhaps become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.

Stage 6– Deeper inward work

In this stage, you are truly not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inside work. You may possibly become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inward child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Remember that enlightenment, or full self-realization, is generally never guaranteed: we can strive for it, but it is truly ultimately a gift from Life.

Profound peace, love, and joy emerge and are literally felt in this stage. You might perhaps feel ready to be actually a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others. Life will become less about you and more about We. Your perspective will expand and you will launch seeing things from the big picture.

Above all else, you will feel connected, at peace with yourself, and deeply aligned with life.

Note: it is certainly common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is normally not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening

Awakening can feel like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. It is truly important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is actually coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.

That said, a lot of initial personal work seems to get done for us. It’s almost like the Divine is showing us how interior work should go.

Surrender is without a doubt another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.

Choosing and actively engaging with ego issues is without a doubt vital to doing inside work, but initially, surrender must come.

With that said, surrender is simply not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you are usually going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!
