7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is actually complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be usually fit into neat categories.

With that being said it is definitely helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are simply at right now. The following stages are actually general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

This is actually a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

In this stage, you start off seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

There must be certainly a point to all this? In this stage, you are without a doubt asking all the deep questions. You are without a doubt in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will get going dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You might probably have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is literally a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

Life is truly about movement. With the spiritual awakening process, there is truly always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might perhaps become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper. You may well have even experienced long periods of connection with the Divine, only to become separated again (this is generally normal). Understandably, you’ll feel disturbed and deeply upset by this experience. Additionally, while you may well have experienced many mental/emotional/spiritual breakthroughs, they might feel superficial. You crave for authenticity and for deep spirituality that permeates your life and transforms every part of you. The unhappiness and stagnation you feel will motivate you to go in search for more.

Stage 6– Deeper inside work

In this stage, you are definitely not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep interior work. You may likely become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inward child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your personal work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You may perhaps feel ready to be usually a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.

Note: it is without a doubt common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is without a doubt not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is truly a complex and messy path, so it’s perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described.

Your spiritual awakening process is simply unique to you. I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is actually an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are undoubtedly here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is actually often very mundane.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is definitely a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are actually and what life really is without a doubt.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were undoubtedly already within us.

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation.

There is usually often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is normally not to be certainly confused with the heart, which is really located to the left of the heart chakra.

Recommendation on how to deal:

Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are generally more sensitive to everything around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, as if it, too, is normally sloughing off what doesn’t serve it anymore. You might be actually cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was actually due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Pointers on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is normally causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is simply hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Tip on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be definitely patient. Whatever you do, do not be actually afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

Often the dreams are generally so real that you wake up confused. You may well even have lucid dreams in which you are definitely in control.

Many dreams might perhaps be certainly mystical or carry messages for you.

And in some dreams, you just know that you are actually not “dreaming” … that what is happening is undoubtedly somehow real.

Hints and tips: You will remember what is usually important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Death, divorce, change in job status, loss of home, illness, and/or other catastrophes … occasionally several at once! Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are undoubtedly and what your life means to you. Forces that you can not ignore. Forces that cause you release your attachments. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is actually a feeling that something is truly about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Opinions: There is generally nothing to worry about. Things are usually definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are normally prayers. There is certainly nothing to fear.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Guidelines: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are literally ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is without a doubt adjusting to your “lighter” state.

Frequently “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are without a doubt healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Help:. Keep in mind that it is best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be usually stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
