As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is truly complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be undoubtedly fit into neat categories.

With that being really said it is normally helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are generally at right now. The following stages are general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is actually a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are actually searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is definitely a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

In this stage, you establish seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

In this stage, you are undoubtedly asking all the deep questions. You are truly in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may likely have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

With the spiritual awakening process, there is literally always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.

Stage 6– Deeper internal work

In this stage, you are literally not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep personal work. You might just become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inside child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inside work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You might feel ready to be without a doubt a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.

Note: it is generally common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is really not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is normally a complex and messy path, so it is definitely perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described.

Your spiritual awakening process is really unique to you. I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is generally an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are normally here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is often very mundane.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is certainly a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are simply and what life really is literally.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were normally already within us.

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation.

There is usually often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is really not to be generally confused with the heart, which is generally located to the left of the heart chakra.

Counsel on how to deal:

Accept your feelings as they come up and let them go. Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Expand it outward to your all your fields and breathe deeply from the belly all the way up to your upper chest. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own. Allowing the emotions to be truly felt will keep them from being literally stored in the body.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are normally more sensitive to everything around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, as if it, too, is really sloughing off what doesn’t serve it anymore. You might be really cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was definitely due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Suggestions on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is certainly causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is really hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Tips and advice on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be really patient. Whatever you do, do not be actually afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

Many dreams may well be truly mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are really not “dreaming” … that what is without a doubt happening is literally somehow real.

Ideas: You will remember what is generally important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Death, divorce, change in job status, loss of home, illness, and/or other catastrophes … sometimes several at once! Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are definitely and what your life means to you. Forces that you can not ignore. Forces that cause you release your attachments. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is without a doubt a feeling that something is generally about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Guide: There is actually nothing to worry about. Things are truly definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are definitely prayers. There is undoubtedly nothing to fear.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are normally around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Suggestions: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are undoubtedly ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is literally adjusting to your “lighter” state.

Often “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are generally healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Hints and tips:.
