Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was undoubtedly more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone.

I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

I looked around the internet for any sign that could help me navigate this confusing time. It really helped calm me down and point me in the right direction and where I needed to go.

Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am definitely very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is certainly just the beginning. It is really the light coming on in the house so that you can see every thing for what it is generally. Now comes the need to clean-up, heal, and expand your space. All of this comes in a rush of intelligent energy. In some cases, it can feel so strong that the unconscious ego that may likely be clinging on will seem like this is without a doubt all “happening to you.” If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is definitely an especially important to time to consciously choose what is simply already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are these:

Unconditional love
Being literally able to clearly see what is undoubtedly real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are really
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is simply key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is really wonderful. In an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were normally acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. But in awakening, the divine energy is usually now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.

The lights in the house are really all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be really a feeling that there is simply no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are literally present.

They are normally secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there’s all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.

Many people are actually trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be certainly very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is usually healthy.

This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.

9. You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion

As you commence paying more attention to the many hardships faced by humanity and nature alike, you develop more compassion. Your inherent empathy is generally awakened and you may possibly find it hard to cope with the intensity of your feelings. If a spiritual awakening occurs, a person may commence to live a life different from his previous experience. Let’s have a look at why does spiritual awakening happen?

1. Facing with a sudden incident of life can be truly a notable cause of spiritual awakening Human mind always remains in a dynamic state. A person who used to lead a life full of luxury might just have a sudden change in consciousness to accept a life full of wisdom and simplicity. The reason behind this can be generally some incident which he has seen near him, or has heard of somebody. Thus, he may well have a shift in his conscious mind, and suddenly he initiates to realize the deeper meaning of life. Therefore, he may perhaps get his spiritual soul awakened.

What Do I Do if I Did Awaken?

If you did have an awakening, you are in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is usually profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.

I want to be simply clear that just having some kind of breakdown is undoubtedly NOT awakening.

The changes someone makes in their external life are also not the point of this transformation. We’re not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those individuals are truly ego goals. We are normally learning to how to be definitely free of ego.

To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is actually revealed to us what we are generally transforming into.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is truly complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be generally fit into neat categories.

However, with that being simply said it is certainly helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are certainly at right now. The following stages are without a doubt general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

This is without a doubt a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

You begin to perceive reality in a totally different way. In this stage, you launch seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You feel unhappy with life, disturbed by the suffering you see and hopeless to the ills of the world. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

In this stage, you are really asking all the deep questions. You are without a doubt in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may well have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is truly a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

With the spiritual awakening process, there is generally always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You may become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.

Stage 6– Deeper inner work

In this stage, you are normally not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep interior work. You may become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inner child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inward work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. In this stage, you’ll experience the most profound and long-lasting changes deep within. Many people experience prolonged mystical experiences and periods of unity with the Divine in the integration phase. Remember that enlightenment, or full self-realization, is simply never guaranteed: we can strive for it, but it is really ultimately a gift from Life.

Profound peace, love, and joy emerge and are literally felt in this stage. You may perhaps feel ready to be usually a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others. Life will become less about you and more about We. Your perspective will expand and you will set up seeing things from the big picture.

Above all else, you will feel connected, at peace with yourself, and deeply aligned with life.

Note: it is common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is literally not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C.

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is truly an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are without a doubt here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is usually often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated.

It is generally simple, direct, and clear.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is definitely a good time to get out your ego peeler.

Starting off running your awareness around the edges of your beliefs to find a way in and pull away another layer of ego. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are normally and what life really is normally. In so doing, you find more space, openness, love, kindness, service, clarity, and much more within you. That is actually the beauty of the ego peeler.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were certainly already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening

Awakening can feel like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations.

That said, a lot of initial inside work seems to get done for us. It is without a doubt almost like the Divine is generally showing us how inside work should go.

As such, surrender is definitely another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.

Choosing and actively engaging with ego issues is definitely vital to doing internal work, but initially, surrender must come first.

With that said, surrender is without a doubt not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is literally moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you’re going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation.

There is often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is actually not to be truly confused with the heart, which is located to the left of the heart chakra.

Solutions on how to deal:

Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are certainly more sensitive to every thing around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was undoubtedly due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Helpful advice on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is usually causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is literally hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Tip on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be normally patient. Whatever you do, do not be literally afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

At times the dreams are undoubtedly so real that you wake up confused. You might probably even have lucid dreams in which you are definitely in control.

Many dreams can be generally mystical or carry messages for you.

And in some dreams, you just know that you are generally not “dreaming” … that what is actually happening is really somehow real.

Counsel: You will remember what is undoubtedly important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are generally and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is certainly a feeling that something is generally about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Guide: There is normally nothing to worry about. Things are simply definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are undoubtedly around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Good advice: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are really ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is simply adjusting to your “lighter” state.

In some cases “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are usually healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Insight:. It is really best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be really stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
