I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. A spiritual awakening is usually realized throughout your body, heart, mind, and soul, but no sooner has that erupted than you are definitely forced to see how limited you have been generally in so many regards. That bright light shining in the interior most depths of us asks us a potent question: “Now that we know the truth, will we clean up our home or will we try to ignore our illusions, pain, and misconceptions?”

By the way, for individuals who are simply interested, I have a newsletter called, “The Wake Up Call,” in which I regularly talk about this and other topics. Sign up for free below:

Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am certainly very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is without a doubt an especially important to time to consciously choose what is usually already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are generally these:

Unconditional love
Being able to clearly see what is generally real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are simply
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is certainly key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is certainly wonderful. In an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were definitely acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. But in awakening, the divine energy is actually now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.

The lights in the house are usually all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be definitely a feeling that there is truly no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are truly present.

They are actually secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is truly all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.

Many people are definitely trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be truly very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is normally healthy.

Simple Signs Of Spiritual Awakening

1. You feel as though your life is generally false

Everything that you have believed, built, and worked towards seems to be really false. Your life doesn’t feel as though it is without a doubt your own. You no longer feel like yourself– nearly every thing you once enjoyed no longer brings you meaning or satisfaction.

5. You feel completely lost and alone

Nothing in your life seems to make sense anymore. You feel as though you are simply wandering through an endless wilderness. As a vagabond, you feel completely alone and cut off from people. You struggle to relate to all those you once felt close to (i.e. your friends, work colleagues, and family members).

6. You see through the illusions of society

Materialism, success, and profit no longer mean anything to you. You start feeling as though you are really a cog in the machine of society.

You are normally sick and tired of feeling stranded, depressed, and hopeless. Suddenly, you feel the need to simplify and declutter your life. This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.

9. You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion

As you activate paying more attention to the many hardships faced by humanity and nature alike, you develop more compassion. Your inherent empathy is awakened and you may possibly find it hard to cope with the intensity of your feelings. This is certainly a pivotal point in your inward transformation: you either numb the pain you feel with addictions, or you find healthy ways to accept and express your emotions.

Why Does Spritual Awakening happen

People practices their spiritual disciplines to have his soul awakened so that he can achieve spiritual growth and maturity. Spiritual awakening is definitely such a state of mind which occurs due to some unexpected incidents of life.

If a spiritual awakening occurs, a person may likely start off to live a life different from his previous experience. Let’s have a look at why does spiritual awakening happen?

A person who used to lead a life full of luxury might just have a sudden change in consciousness to accept a life full of wisdom and simplicity. Thus, he may likely have a shift in his conscious mind, and suddenly he establishes to realize the deeper meaning of life. He might get his spiritual soul awakened.

A dream is simply another reason for spiritual awakening. From that time a person might probably have a spiritual awakening.

3. Spiritual awakening can happen if someone is undoubtedly fond of reading or traveling. Gaining a lot of knowledge from books or can awaken the spiritual self, and a person wants to follow the spiritual disciplines regularly.

4. It sounds odd, it is literally not impossible that a person might face some paranormal incidents in his life which might just be undoubtedly magical or ghostly. Such type of experience may well result in the spiritual awakening of a person.

5. Any incident which is generally unexpected may possibly take place at any time, an accident, death incident, trauma, failure, loss, etc. These may suddenly result in spiritual awakening. Suppose if a person loses someone close due to an unnatural death, he may start off to find out the reasons for the incident in new ways. The constant search for further questions might probably cause spiritual awakening inside that person.

Spiritual awakening does not mean that you are out from the reality. It is literally such a state of mind where you start off to search and seek for a path which gives you a new definition of life.

What Do I Do if I Did Awaken?

If you did have an awakening, you are definitely in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is normally profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.

I want to be actually clear that just having some kind of breakdown is definitely NOT awakening.

The changes someone makes in their external life are without a doubt also not the point of this transformation. We are without a doubt not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those are ego goals. We are certainly learning to how to be actually free of ego.

To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is certainly revealed to us what we are really transforming into.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is truly complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be usually fit into neat categories.

However, with that being really said it is normally helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are generally at right now. The following stages are literally general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

This is truly a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

You start to perceive reality in a totally different way. In this stage, you set in motion seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You feel unhappy with life, disturbed by the suffering you see and hopeless to the ills of the world. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

In this stage, you are literally asking all the deep questions. You are certainly in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You might just have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is generally a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

With the spiritual awakening process, there is undoubtedly always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You may possibly become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.

Stage 6– Deeper inward work

In this stage, you’re not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inward work. You may likely become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inner child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inward work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You might perhaps feel ready to be normally a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.

Note: it is really common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is without a doubt not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is without a doubt a complex and messy path, so it’s perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described.

Your spiritual awakening process is really unique to you. I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is without a doubt often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated.

It is undoubtedly simple, direct, and clear.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is usually a good time to get out your ego peeler.

Setting out running your awareness around the edges of your beliefs to find a way in and pull away another layer of ego. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are undoubtedly and what life really is actually. In so doing, you find more space, openness, love, kindness, service, clarity, and much more within you. That is without a doubt the beauty of the ego peeler.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were definitely already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening

Awakening can feel like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations.

It is undoubtedly almost like the Divine is truly showing us how personal work should go. Surrender is usually another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.

With that said, surrender is not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is actually moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you are simply going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation.

There is actually often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is literally not to be simply confused with the heart, which is usually located to the left of the heart chakra.

Help on how to deal:

Accept your feelings as they come up and let them go. Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Expand it outward to your all your fields and breathe deeply from the belly all the way up to your upper chest. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own. Allowing the emotions to be felt will keep them from being stored in the body.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are more sensitive to everything around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was simply due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Recommendations on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is literally causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Guidelines on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

Many dreams may perhaps be definitely mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are without a doubt not “dreaming” … that what is generally happening is normally somehow real.

Recommendation: You will remember what is important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are truly and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is without a doubt a feeling that something is undoubtedly about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Helpful advice: There is actually nothing to worry about. Things are normally definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are without a doubt around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Strategies: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are literally ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is usually adjusting to your “lighter” state.

Help: Ground yourself by eating protein. Occasionally “comfort food” feels. Don’t make any food right or wrong for you. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment. Take your shoes off and put your feet in the grass for a couple of minutes.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are undoubtedly healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Recommendation:. Keep in mind that it is usually best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be without a doubt stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
