My spiritual awakening process.

I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was undoubtedly deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was born into.

Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone.

I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

I looked around the internet for any sign that could help me surf this confusing time. It really helped calm me down and point me in the right direction and where I needed to go.

Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am truly very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is generally just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is usually an especially important to time to consciously choose what is certainly already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are truly these:

Unconditional love
Being truly able to clearly see what is truly real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are actually
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is undoubtedly key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is simply wonderful. In an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were actually acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is really now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.

The lights in the house are all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be undoubtedly a feeling that there is truly no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are generally present.

They are generally secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is simply all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.

Many people are truly trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be without a doubt very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is really healthy.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is certainly complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be without a doubt fit into neat categories.

However, with that being actually said it is definitely helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are literally at right now. The following stages are generally general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is really a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are truly searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is truly a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

You set out to perceive reality in a totally different way. In this stage, you commence seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You feel unhappy with life, disturbed by the suffering you see and hopeless to the ills of the world. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

In this stage, you are normally asking all the deep questions. You are simply in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You might perhaps have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

With the spiritual awakening process, there is actually always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You may well become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.

Stage 6– Deeper inward work

In this stage, you are really not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inward work. You might possibly become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inside child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inside work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. In this stage, you’ll experience the most profound and long-lasting changes deep within. Many people experience prolonged mystical experiences and periods of unity with the Divine in the integration phase. Remember that enlightenment, or full self-realization, is normally never guaranteed: we can strive for it, but it is truly ultimately a gift from Life.

Nevertheless, profound peace, love, and joy emerge and are simply felt in this stage. You may feel ready to be generally a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others. Life will become less about you and more about We. Your perspective will expand and you will get going seeing things from the big picture.

Above all else, you will feel connected, at peace with yourself, and deeply aligned with life.

Note: it is actually common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is usually not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is simply a complex and messy path, so it is undoubtedly perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described.

Your spiritual awakening process is generally unique to you. But I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is generally an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are without a doubt here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is truly often very mundane.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is normally a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are undoubtedly and what life really is normally.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were literally already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening

Awakening can believe that a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. It is really important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is generally coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.

It is definitely almost like the Divine is actually showing us how inside work should go. Surrender is really another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.

When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is undoubtedly moving you, you also swim.

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation.

There is certainly often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is truly not to be really confused with the heart, which is really located to the left of the heart chakra.

Instructions on how to deal:

Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are really more sensitive to everything around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was generally due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Solutions on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is usually hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Ideas on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be simply patient. Whatever you do, do not be literally afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

Many dreams might be really mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are not “dreaming” … that what is definitely happening is truly somehow real.

Useful information: You will remember what is actually important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Death, divorce, change in job status, loss of home, illness, and/or other catastrophes … sometimes several at once! Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are definitely and what your life means to you. Forces that you can not ignore. Forces that cause you release your attachments. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is generally a feeling that something is without a doubt about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Help: There is truly nothing to worry about. Things are normally definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are simply around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Insight: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are certainly ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is really adjusting to your “lighter” state.

At times “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are simply healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Knowledge:. Keep in mind that it is generally best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be literally stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
