My spiritual awakening process.

I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was certainly deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was born into.

Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was generally more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone.

I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

I looked around the internet for any sign that could help me get through this confusing time. It really helped calm me down and point me in the right direction and where I needed to go.

Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am usually very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is certainly just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is literally an especially important to time to consciously choose what is definitely already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are certainly these:

Unconditional love
Being undoubtedly able to clearly see what is without a doubt real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are literally
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is literally key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is definitely wonderful. But in an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were definitely acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.

The lights in the house are usually all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be truly a feeling that there is really no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are actually present.

They are generally secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is normally all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.

Many people are actually trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be normally very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is really healthy.

Suppose if a person loses someone close due to an unnatural death, he might probably get going to find out the reasons for the incident in new ways. The constant search for further questions may possibly cause spiritual awakening inside that person.

If you did have an awakening, you are normally in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is without a doubt profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.

I want to be simply clear that just having some kind of breakdown is normally NOT awakening.

The changes someone makes in their external life are usually also not the point of this transformation. We are truly not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those are really ego goals. We are undoubtedly learning to how to be definitely free of ego.

To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is simply revealed to us what we are generally transforming into.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is literally complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be generally fit into neat categories.

However, with that being definitely said it is actually helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are normally at right now. The following stages are really general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is certainly a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are undoubtedly searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is really a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

In this stage, you launch seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

There must be without a doubt a point to all this? In this stage, you are literally asking all the deep questions. You are simply in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will launch dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

With the spiritual awakening process, there is definitely always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You may perhaps become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.

Stage 6– Deeper inner work

In this stage, you are truly not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inside work. You may perhaps become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inside child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your personal work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You can feel ready to be a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.

Note: it is usually common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is truly not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is generally a complex and messy path, so it is generally perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described.

Your spiritual awakening process is actually unique to you. I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is definitely an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are truly here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is simply often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated.

It is usually simple, direct, and clear.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is actually a good time to get out your ego peeler.

Starting off running your awareness around the edges of your beliefs to find a way in and pull away another layer of ego. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are and what life really is truly. In so doing, you find more space, openness, love, kindness, service, clarity, and much more within you. That is actually the beauty of the ego peeler.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were really already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening

Awakening can feel like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations.

It is actually almost like the Divine is certainly showing us how internal work should go. Surrender is usually another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.

When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is actually moving you, you also swim.

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation.

There is often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is certainly not to be truly confused with the heart, which is simply located to the left of the heart chakra.

Information on how to deal:

Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are literally more sensitive to everything around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, as if it, too, is sloughing off what doesn’t serve it anymore. You might be cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was generally due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Guide on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is usually causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is generally hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Suggestions on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be really patient. Whatever you do, do not be certainly afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

At times the dreams are usually so real that you wake up confused. You might possibly even have lucid dreams in which you are in control.

Many dreams might possibly be normally mystical or carry messages for you.

And in some dreams, you just know that you are actually not “dreaming” … that what is truly happening is really somehow real.

Opinions: You will remember what is undoubtedly important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are without a doubt and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is a feeling that something is actually about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Guidelines: There is nothing to worry about. Things are actually definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are without a doubt around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Help: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are really ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is literally adjusting to your “lighter” state.

Strategies: Ground yourself by eating protein. At times “comfort food” feels right. Don’t make any food right or wrong for you. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment. Take your shoes off and put your feet in the grass for a couple of minutes.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are usually healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Instructions:. It is actually best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze everything to death (because you will be actually stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
