My spiritual awakening process.

I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was literally deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was truly born into.

Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was really more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone.

I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

I looked around the internet for any sign that could help me navigate this confusing time. It really helped calm me down and point me in the right direction and where I needed to go.

Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am simply very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is undoubtedly just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is actually an especially important to time to consciously choose what is certainly already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are really these:

Unconditional love
Being normally able to clearly see what is normally real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are normally
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is definitely key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is generally wonderful. But in an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were usually acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is normally now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own.

The lights in the house are generally all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be truly a feeling that there is usually no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are simply present.

They are truly secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is usually all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not.

Many people are actually trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be really very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is undoubtedly healthy.

I want to be really clear that just having some kind of breakdown is really NOT awakening.

The changes someone makes in their external life are also not the point of this transformation. We are definitely not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those individuals are certainly ego goals. We are truly learning to how to be literally free of ego.

To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is simply revealed to us what we are truly transforming into.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is normally complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be generally fit into neat categories.

However, with that being literally said it is undoubtedly helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are really at right now. The following stages are really general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

This is normally a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

You set up to perceive reality in a totally different way. In this stage, you get going seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You feel unhappy with life, disturbed by the suffering you see and hopeless to the ills of the world. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

There must be definitely a point to all this, right? In this stage, you are generally asking all the deep questions. You are without a doubt in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will create dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You can have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

With the spiritual awakening process, there is simply always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might perhaps become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.

Stage 6– Deeper inward work

In this stage, you are truly not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inward work. You may perhaps become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, personal child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your internal work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You can feel ready to be simply a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.

Note: it is definitely common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is simply not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is generally a complex and messy path, so it is certainly perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described.

Your spiritual awakening process is simply unique to you. I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is actually an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are normally here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is generally often very mundane.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is undoubtedly a good time to get out your ego peeler.

Setting in motion running your awareness around the edges of your beliefs to find a way in and pull away another layer of ego. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are generally and what life really is usually. In so doing, you find more space, openness, love, kindness, service, clarity, and much more within you. That is undoubtedly the beauty of the ego peeler.

When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were undoubtedly already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening

Awakening can feel like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. It is literally important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.

That said, a lot of initial interior work seems to get done for us. It is truly almost like the Divine is really showing us how inward work should go.

Surrender is certainly another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.

Choosing and actively engaging with ego issues is undoubtedly vital to doing inner work, but initially, surrender must come.

When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is really moving you, you also swim.

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation.

There is usually often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is undoubtedly not to be undoubtedly confused with the heart, which is really located to the left of the heart chakra.

Solutions on how to deal:

Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are literally more sensitive to everything around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, as if it, too, is really sloughing off what doesn’t serve it anymore. You might be normally cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was definitely due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Answers on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is simply causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is really hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Hints and tips on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be undoubtedly patient. Whatever you do, do not be normally afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

Sometimes the dreams are actually so real that you wake up confused. You may likely even have lucid dreams in which you are truly in control.

Many dreams may likely be mystical or carry messages for you.

And in some dreams, you just know that you are normally not “dreaming” … that what is normally happening is undoubtedly somehow real.

Strategies: You will remember what is really important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are undoubtedly and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is normally a feeling that something is literally about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Suggestions: There is normally nothing to worry about. Things are certainly definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are usually around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Knowledge: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are really ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is adjusting to your “lighter” state.

Hints: Ground yourself by eating protein. In some cases “comfort food” feels right. Don’t make any food right or wrong for you. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment. Take your shoes off and put your feet in the grass for a couple of minutes.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are simply healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Suggestions:. It is truly best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be literally stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
